Kiasu and kiasi about COVID-19 pandemic

Be Kiasu to avoid the infection of COVID-19 plus Kiasi about it!

As we understand that Singapore Circuit Breaker will end on 1st June 2020 and prepare for some businesses to be operational. We simply hope that we will have the mentality of doing the right thing as we move forward to see businesses opening up gradually. Important thing we must be in mind is continuing to be vigilant and not be complacent as the danger of getting infected is still high since there are unknown cases that have yet to be traced. We understand the need of businesses to be operational but precautions are still needed as we definitely do not want to see another wave of COVID-19 spreading.

It is the right time to be a little KIASU and also KIASI kind of approach since we really do not want to be the victim of this infection.

Sometimes we question ourselves about why people still not taking it seriously though there has been lots of news talking about the effect of spreading COVID-19 via human to human contact. Maybe some simply do not bother about it while others just want to act out as defiance! As we see it, we should give much thoughts of people around us that we must not allow it to spread and harm them. Just be HUMAN again please! You may not care about yourself when you resist all rules but please try not to harm others with your action. Others may just want to be safe and with your rash action might put others in danger. A little kind thought with the right action can help others in a long way. We cannot tell who are those unknown cases of having the virus but as long as everyone keep in mind of the safety aspect and doing the right thing then we can avoid others from getting the infection. It is hard to have 100% cooperation but every bit counts from people like you and us. Help yourself as you can expect others to help you in return.

Learn and know what to expect and prevent it from happening!

Getting the report daily from GOV.SG about the cases happening in Singapore, it is comforting to know that we are reduced to 1% of the unknown cases. But it is also kind of worrying since we do not know the 1% source of transmission. Therefore, we hope that all people who are staying in Singapore should be downloading the TraceTogether app that will allow 100% contact tracing of individual who is infected and those around the same location. At least it helps to tell us if we are exposed with someone having the infection. Please be human again as we are all the same human being regardless of races or religions.

Bad news about COVID-19 pandemic

Bad News in worldwide about COVID-19!

It sadden us to read about the COVID-19 pandemic had already infected more than 6 millions people worldwide and causing more than 300 thousands of deaths as a result. This is indeed the worst news in history for a pandemic that is causing so many deaths.

Why is it continuing at this rate of infection?

One simple answer we can think of is people are still not taking it seriously due to misinformation or just being defiant about it. We understand about the danger of not getting the right signal about how bad this virus can cause harm to individual when not taking all the necessary preventive measures to safeguard against infection. The right message can be obtained from all Government agencies worldwide and need to take action in order to avoid having the infections.

How come it is still spreading like wildfire since December 2019?

Simple guideline of social distancing and wearing masks in public but yet many are still not serious about it. Why? Guess some people are reading from a mix source of information that had confused their thoughts about what will be the right thing to do. Also there will be people who just refuse to obey the rules and do whatever they feel like doing. We presume that is one of the reasons why we are still having the rise in numbers for infections worldwide. As we had mentioned many times since the COVID-19 had announced as pandemic, we just need to do at least ONE month of isolation for the entire country as to eliminate the human to human transmission and slowly allowing it to die off. Unfortunately, this is not done by 100% people in the country month after month as we can see it had dragged for the last few months since the disease started in December 2019.

Is it there is no ending with COVID-19 pandemic?

Resistance to abide the guideline is the main cause of COVID-19 to persist on for many months. It is a very tough job for all Government agencies to handle the situation when not 100% people are willing to abide the simple rule of engagement. This is indeed sad and very disheartening when we know how serious it can be affecting individual’s health. Well, guess for all those who clearly understand the danger and having the right knowledge of preventive measures to do the right thing. We can only hope for the best outcome and hopefully those who are resistance about following the rules, do not get the infection to spread around us.

As we understand that countries are starting to ease on restrictions as there are signs of improvement but we must never be complacent about it since the virus is still very much alive and please continue to be vigilant so as not to spread this virus to others & loved ones. We all need to do our parts even though some may not do so. Every single bit of effort carry out by individual makes a difference. We must try to persuade those who may still be resistance about this and change their mindset as it is for the good of others!

Good news for once …

We are happy to hear about 30 countries are sharing resources and information with regards to COVID-19 as this will indeed benefit the entire world. Sharing of information about their researches of producing vaccines can be helpful to get result sooner rather than later. No matter when we will have the vaccine, every single person in the world should maintain the basic rule of doing social distancing and wearing masks while in public. Of course we must forget about personal hygiene like washing hands with soap frequently especially before touching your eyes, nose and mouth since this is known to be the entry point for this COVID-19. Do your part to keep everyone safe and sound.

Lastly, this will be our advice for cure currently as to avoid being infected by COVID-19. Remember, every bit counts in prevention!

Battle with COVID-19 pandemic

What our founding father Lee Kuan Yew had said these words: “Never be depressed, never be deflated by setbacks.”

With the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, all Singaporeans should face it together as a nation and not to be deflated by setbacks. We know that everyone is doing their best to face this danger together as one people! It needs the cooperation of every single human being if we want to win the war against COVID-19. It takes just one bad apple that will create havoc since the spreading will be from human to human. Only with 100% people with true commitment to fight against this virus together then we shall emerge victory!

Another nice saying by our founding father Lee Kuan Yew was: Singapore’s success to a one of the nation’s greatest strengths – “its willingness to face reality.”

We must each bear in mind of what he had said and learn from it. Though we are facing tough times ahead but with our will as one nation, we will prevail against all odds. We understand the danger of COVID-19 pandemic and it is our duties to participate in cooperation of safety concern between one another with guidelines to abide. We need to do basic tasks like wearing masks and social distancing while in public as well as washing hands with soap frequently before touching your nose, mouth or eyes. It will be your own personal hygiene that will help to avoid getting the infection. We need to do our parts as to avoid the transmission of the virus from human to human.

To fight against this virus is every individual’s job as the onus is not just the Government. Our Government can help to give advice but we are the people who need to carry out the important task of abiding to the rules of engagement that is wearing masks & doing social distancing while in public. Of course during the course of the situation, things might not turn out to be favorable but we must not be quick to point fingers and blame for it. This pandemic is new and sudden, therefore there is no clear solution as how it should be carried out and what will be the best way for good outcome. It is like a sort of trial and error’s situation but with much considerations. From what we see, the current cure for the situation is to maintain with wearing masks and doing social distancing in public. This will help to reduce further spreading of this deadly virus. This advice is needed to be taken seriously as we do not want another wave of attack by COVID-19.

Never be complacent even though the situation has started to ease down. Please continue to be vigilant as the whole world is fighting against this pandemic. It might take a year or longer before things to get better but our efforts can save lives. Just continue doing the right thing as we move ahead in life.
