Not to be frustrated or anguish before voting

Election day on 10 July 2020 and it will be the right time for all Singaporeans to give their true strong mandate for our Government as they will be the ones helping to rebuild Singapore during this COVID-19 pandemic for our economy and businesses. It will be a tough job but we are confident that they have strategic plans as how we can approach this bad situation and emerge stronger than ever in the coming future. We must send a strong signal of endorsement for our Government so they proceed with the plans to strength our economy and businesses.

We totally understand that there will be people who are too emotional with their frustration and anguish as things may have not go well in their lives. But we all have to be clear headed about the matter of election since we all want a good and strong Government to work & benefit for the people of Singapore. That will be the most important point in our lives as that is what we want for our country. Time to give a strong mandate for our Government and show our support for all their hard work and contributions to build & transform Singapore’s future. We trust that all Singaporeans will have a good idea as who are the candidates that can bring Singapore forward into the future.

As we read about the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, it seems like some countries are not able to control the spread of this virus as the numbers of infections are rising including the numbers of deaths due to it. We are fortunate that our Government have done their parts in helping to control the situation with step by step measures. Some might be unhappy of how it had been carried out initially for the measures but we sincerely be that in life there will never always be a perfect solution but at least we tried it out and move on if it doesn’t work. It is always like Work-In-Progress but with much considerations & planning before it is carried out. You may have also witnessed as how some countries carried out the measures against COVID-19 which can be good for some while others are not. We must understand that strategic plans are not foolproof but at least it is carried out with the best possible solution at that moment. We like to thank our Government for all the efforts and measures taken to help prevent further spreading. We as Singaporeans also must coordinate together with the Government as to avert further spreading with the use of contact tracing app like TraceTogether. As our Government do realize that not all citizens are having smartphone like older generations, therefore they have came up with another solution by providing a device where we can use for contact tracing. We thank you for such good initiative!

Like what we always say that we need to help ourselves as we can help others to avoid getting this infection by doing the right thing with all necessary preventive precautions. Please be UNITED as this will be the way we can conquer over this crisis.

Be blessed with good health and take care of your loved ones!

Important decision on Singapore Election

The Past in Singapore

Remembered those days in the 60’s where we were living in kampong and staying in a room with 10 people. Though it was quite a squeeze for us as a family but then it was still comfortable. The entertainment we got were playing marbles, catching spiders, flying kites, top spin, catching, etc. It was really fun for children at our time during those days. We were kind of carefree and most of our time were spent outdoor with plenty of activities. Then we learnt that the Government started to build HDB flats which was a great idea since it would be able to cater of more people and better staying conditions. It was in the 70’s before we could afford to move into HDB flat. Thumbs up for this!

In 1985, Singapore experienced its first post-independence recession. To beat the recession, the government introduced a slew of cost-cutting measures such as reductions in employer contributions to the Central Provident Fund and Skills Development Fund; wage restraint for two years; rebates on personal, corporate and property taxes as well as government fees; and loans with lower interest rates. Public development spending was increased and a venture capital fund was set up. The government also adopted a policy of privatisation and deregulation to establish the private sector as the new driver for economic growth. The Singapore economy made a swift recovery in mid-1986. By the second quarter of that year, Singapore posted a growth of 1.2 percent, which increased to 3.8 percent in the third quarter. The recession was the first test for the second-generation leaders led by Goh Chok Tong, who was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister after the 1984 parliamentary general election.

That is what we appreciate of our Government who did a great job for all Singaporeans to move forward in bad times.

The Present in Singapore

We are now all living comfortably in HDB flat and having our own family with children. And having the transport system improving like the MRT system which makes our lives much easier and comfortable.

The network was planned to be constructed and opened in stages, even as plans had already indicated the decision for two main arterial lines. The North South line was given priority because it passed through the Central Area that has a high demand for public transport. The Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRTC)—later renamed SMRT Corporation—was established on 14 October 1983 and took over the roles and responsibilities of the former provisional Mass Rapid Transit Authority. On 7 November 1987, the first section of the North South line started operations, consisting of five stations over six kilometres. Within a year, 20 more stations had been added to the network and a direct service existed between Yishun and Lakeside stations, linking up Central Singapore to Jurong in the west by the end of 1988. The direct service was eventually split into the North South and East West lines after the latter’s completion of the eastern sector to Pasir Ris. By the end of 1990, the Branch line has further linked Choa Chu Kang to the network while the inauguration of Boon Lay station on 6 July 1990 marked the completion of the initial system two years ahead of schedule.

We now are having more places of interests where it attracts visitors from all over the world. We can see how our Government has transformed our tiny red dot city into a place where people want to visit. We are indeed proud to be Singaporeans and having such an effective Government to run our country. Of course we must not be quick to blame whenever something goes wrong as we have to consider that Government is also human like us. Humans are bound to make mistakes once a while but learning from it will be a good lesson as we move forward. We just need to understand that every decision made should be after a much thorough consideration of its pros and cons before implementation. We cannot really expect everything that is done to be perfect all the times without failures as certain factors play a part of the outcome. As long as it is made with much consideration for the people of Singapore, we will totally support it.

The future in Singapore

We need a strong Government to bring us into the future. Therefore, we have to endorse our 100% support in order for them to work for the people of Singapore. All we can say is that this is not a very rosy job to take up as there are lots of sacrifice and commitment need in order to rule Singapore and bringing us forward to meet all sorts of challenges ahead. We like to show our thanks for all that had been done and hope to continue seeing the best outcome for all Singaporeans with our full support in our Government to do their jobs. Thumbs up for you all!

Lastly, as the COVID-19 pandemic is still far from over, please abide to the simple rules that can help each and everyone of us to be safe. Be sure that you wear your mask & do social distancing while in public. Also don’t forget to wash your hands with soap frequently especially before touching your eyes, nose and mouth. It is better safe than sorry since prevention is always better than cure itself. Help yourself as you can help others to avoid getting the infection.

Be blessed with good health and take care of your loved ones!

Right choice towards COVID-19

Another sad day as we read about the infection rates worldwide is now 8,257,885 cases while the death rates is now 445,986 cases. The numbers seem to be increasing even though there are measures in place where people can do something about it to help eliminate further spreading. So it seems that even though we know & understand the need to be in safe distancing & wearing masks while in public but there will be some people who are defiance to abide simple guideline. Guess it is somehow nearly impossible to totally eradicate this virus until we get the vaccine cure or prevention. It is hard to predict how individual mind works as there tend to be resistance in all kind of situations in life. We can never get 100% cooperation from people to agree with any sort of proposes or ideas. We have to deal with it the best we can to move on in life.

You decide your destiny of fate in life but think of others before you ignore safety measures.

Great news as Singapore proceeds with Phase 2 where most activities will resume as of 19 June 2020. But please do us a favor as to be vigilant with safe distancing & wearing masks in public as to avoid unnecessary transmission of infection. Here is what that will be allowed according to the Gov.sg announcement. Please do check on the site for further information of any changes.

  1. Dine-in for F&B where 5 persons per table with safe distancing of 1 metre.
  2. Social gatherings for up to 5 persons (visitors) for each household.
  3. Retail Outlets to reopen but prevent crowds or long queues.
  4. School students resume daily from 29 June 2020.
  5. Sports facilities & wellness reopen.
  6. Healthcare services will resume in operation.
  7. Home-based services can resume except for singing or voice training classes.

That’s what we gather from the Gov.sg and if you need to know more, please proceed to the website and find out further info. With the reopening of Singapore under Phase 2, we sincerely hope that everyone will do their parts as to maintain safe distancing & wearing masks while in public to help eliminate the possibility of transmission. Also keep washing your hands with soap frequently and before you touch your eyes, nose or mouth while in public. This is to safeguard yourself from getting infected with COVID-19.

You decide your path in life but please be civic minded as you do not want to increase the spike of virus for the sake of yourself as well as loved ones. Be vigilant to protect yourself with wearing mask & social distancing while in public. Important that you wash your hands with soap frequently especially before touching your eyes, nose or mouth while in public since you will be exposed to this virus. Like what we always said, help yourself as you can help others to avoid being infected by this virus.

Lastly, we like to bring up these simple measures that can help to eliminate the spread of this virus when everyone put in an effort of doing so.

  1. Wearing masks whenever you are in public as a preventive measures.
  2. Washing hands with soap frequently as to eliminate the virus staying on your hands.
  3. Do social distancing from others as it helps to prevent the spread of infection without close contact.
  4. Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth before you wash your hands with soap as it will be the source of entry for the virus to get you infected.
  5. If you need to sneeze, please use a tissue or otherwise bend your elbow and sneeze in between there.
  6. Should you have fever, cough and shortness of breathe, please do consult a doctor. Remember to wear mask when doing so.
  7. In order for more effective contact tracing, please do download the TraceTogether app for those who are staying in Singapore. This will actually eliminate those unknown sources as well as allow you to be informed should you be exposed to someone having the infection.

There is FAKED TraceTogether app being circulating and this will be prone to hacking of your handphone, please be aware and do not download it. It should be from the Google Play/ Apple App store and the app is developed by Government Technology Agency. Get it from the official website:
