Changes in Singapore

With the election over, now our Government will face a tougher job to help rebuilding Singapore’s economy as it affects every single country in the world as well. This is definitely be one of the toughest time since the World War’s era. But we sincerely believe that our Government will put their hearts & mind together as they will guide all Singaporeans towards the right path and eventually we will emerge stronger than ever. It may not be so soon as all of us are likely to face unemployment, pay cut or going for unpaid leave, etc since quite a number of companies are suffering losses during this COVID-19 crisis. It is time to be UNITED as one people and work together with our Government to solve the COVID-19 pandemic (not allowing it to spreading further from human to human transmission) and rebuilding the economy.

We have to understand that our Government will be doing most of the supportive roles in getting investors, creating new jobs, etc and Singaporeans may have to expect change in job’s scope or upgrading their current skills, etc to be employed by companies according to its requirements. We believe more and more companies will be moving towards using Internet technology as to promote their products with some countries carrying out lockdown. Therefore digital communication and promotions for companies will be one of the options where they can utilize to help their businesses. With this COVID-19 pandemic for the past few months, we understand that the new norm of people working from home seems to be viable as long as they are not front end support staffs. This maybe so for the next few years as we do not know when the vaccine cure will be made available to prevent or even cure with it.

As we can see that travel will be quite costly due to certain restrictions are in place for travellers and this will greatly affect the airline’s businesses. There will likely be scale down effect for airlines since there will not be much flights to certain countries due to certain regulations and requirements. Also we will notice a significant of cut in tourism for most countries as travellers will be subjected to quarantine depending on the country’s guideline for COVID-19. So we can see that there will be an enormous changes in our lifestyle as everyone is greatly affected by COVID-19.

Ultimately, we hope that everyone will be putting in their safeguard against spreading of COVID-19 by taking all necessary precautions. This preventive measures may be simple but it needs everyone’s attention and carrying them out in order to avoid transmitting to others.

  1. Try to isolate yourself whenever possible to remain at home.
  2. Wearing masks & do social distancing when needs to be in public.
  3. Washing your hands with soap frequently especially before touching your eyes, nose and mouth. This are the entry point for the virus into your body.

Remember that helping yourself will help others to avoid getting this infection and we will slowly but surely reduce the amount of infections as we can see that every day in the world, the numbers are climbing higher and higher. That’s why we need the cooperation of every single human beings in the world to reduce this infection. Think of your loved ones and do the right thing to prevent it from further spreading.

Be blessed with good health and take care of your loved ones.

Wise decision needed for election

Election is about candidates who are capable to sustain a good and stable government that will help the people of Singapore into the future where we will face challenges. We need to understand that new candidates are being nurtured to replace the current MPs who are stepping down. We need to vote for candidates who are reliable to have long term strategy and ideas to help building Singapore for the good of the people into the future. Candidates in selection will need to have a good rapport as a group to brainstorm what will be best route for all Singaporeans and building our country towards the goals. It has to come with plans ahead in time for at least 5 to 10 years to mould our country with clear objectives as to benefits Singaporeans.

We as the older generations have benefited from the Government who have brought us where we are now so we also hope that the new group of candidates will continue the good work in helping the younger generations into the future. We need to give a strong mandate of approval so that the people of Singapore can continue to appreciate the effort by our Government in building our beautiful garden where we live. Though we are just a tiny red dot in the world map, our Government have transform it into a beautiful garden city where we appreciate in our hearts. We are indeed very happy with our Singapore’s current political stability and looking forward having it to continue in the future.

We need people to vote with a clear mind as not to be influenced by emotions which might be the wrong decision. We have to look into a bigger picture as who will be able to help Singapore to move into the future with strategic plans and guidelines. We may have encountered many various obstacles and unhappiness in life but decision as who will be the right candidates will be vital to our country. Make your vote counts as Singaporeans need a strong mandate for the Government to continue the good work of transforming our country.

As everyone is getting excited over the current election on 10 July 2020, we must bear in mind that our choice of having a group of true leaders to guide the people of Singapore into the future that matters. Please be clear headed about who you should be voting as leaders of our country to bring prosperity and progress as we are just a tiny red dot in the world map.

We can understand the new batch of younger leaders are being groomed to take over the older generation leaders which will be capable of handling difficult tasks and moulding our country for better future. It takes years of training and guidance to be true leaders and that is why we need candidates who are already equipped with such training. On top of that, we require leaders to have 100% commitment as our Government to handle all kind of situations and provide solutions to resolve any future obstacles. They will need to pave the way as to develop our country to attract more investors to build up our economy especially now with the COVID-19 pandemic issue. Let us all vote for the right candidates so that our Government can proceed to handle the COVID-19 pandemic as well as our economy which is badly affected.

Do the right vote and we will have a strong Government to lead us into the future. Every vote counts and do not vote based on anger or jealousy as well as emotions which can affect your decision. We sincerely hope everyone will make the wise choice in voting as we all want a strong & decisive Government to help tackling problems & issues domestic as well as foreign.

Back to COVID-19 pandemic which is still dangerous as we read that today there are already 10,803,599 cases worldwide with 518,968 deaths. We are fortunate that our Government had taken the correct measures to control the situation. Please do abide to the simple preventive measures of wearing masks & do social distancing while in public. In addition, please wash your hands with soap regularly especially before touching your eyes, nose and mouth as it will be the entry point for the virus into your body. Help yourself as you can help others to avoid getting this infection. Everyone should be doing their parts to avoid any human to human transmission. Every bit of effort by each and every one of us makes a great difference in bringing down the infection rates.

Like any Singaporeans, we always like to be a little more Kiasu & Kiasi in this circumstances and hope you will also be like that to handle this virus crisis.

Lastly, never take things for granted as our country current achievements are from the hardworking government that have been serving us and we should continue to endorse and appreciate for what they had done for the people of Singapore. Thumbs up!

Be blessed with good health and take care of yourself & loved ones.

Important decision on Singapore Election

The Past in Singapore

Remembered those days in the 60’s where we were living in kampong and staying in a room with 10 people. Though it was quite a squeeze for us as a family but then it was still comfortable. The entertainment we got were playing marbles, catching spiders, flying kites, top spin, catching, etc. It was really fun for children at our time during those days. We were kind of carefree and most of our time were spent outdoor with plenty of activities. Then we learnt that the Government started to build HDB flats which was a great idea since it would be able to cater of more people and better staying conditions. It was in the 70’s before we could afford to move into HDB flat. Thumbs up for this!

In 1985, Singapore experienced its first post-independence recession. To beat the recession, the government introduced a slew of cost-cutting measures such as reductions in employer contributions to the Central Provident Fund and Skills Development Fund; wage restraint for two years; rebates on personal, corporate and property taxes as well as government fees; and loans with lower interest rates. Public development spending was increased and a venture capital fund was set up. The government also adopted a policy of privatisation and deregulation to establish the private sector as the new driver for economic growth. The Singapore economy made a swift recovery in mid-1986. By the second quarter of that year, Singapore posted a growth of 1.2 percent, which increased to 3.8 percent in the third quarter. The recession was the first test for the second-generation leaders led by Goh Chok Tong, who was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister after the 1984 parliamentary general election.

That is what we appreciate of our Government who did a great job for all Singaporeans to move forward in bad times.

The Present in Singapore

We are now all living comfortably in HDB flat and having our own family with children. And having the transport system improving like the MRT system which makes our lives much easier and comfortable.

The network was planned to be constructed and opened in stages, even as plans had already indicated the decision for two main arterial lines. The North South line was given priority because it passed through the Central Area that has a high demand for public transport. The Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRTC)—later renamed SMRT Corporation—was established on 14 October 1983 and took over the roles and responsibilities of the former provisional Mass Rapid Transit Authority. On 7 November 1987, the first section of the North South line started operations, consisting of five stations over six kilometres. Within a year, 20 more stations had been added to the network and a direct service existed between Yishun and Lakeside stations, linking up Central Singapore to Jurong in the west by the end of 1988. The direct service was eventually split into the North South and East West lines after the latter’s completion of the eastern sector to Pasir Ris. By the end of 1990, the Branch line has further linked Choa Chu Kang to the network while the inauguration of Boon Lay station on 6 July 1990 marked the completion of the initial system two years ahead of schedule.

We now are having more places of interests where it attracts visitors from all over the world. We can see how our Government has transformed our tiny red dot city into a place where people want to visit. We are indeed proud to be Singaporeans and having such an effective Government to run our country. Of course we must not be quick to blame whenever something goes wrong as we have to consider that Government is also human like us. Humans are bound to make mistakes once a while but learning from it will be a good lesson as we move forward. We just need to understand that every decision made should be after a much thorough consideration of its pros and cons before implementation. We cannot really expect everything that is done to be perfect all the times without failures as certain factors play a part of the outcome. As long as it is made with much consideration for the people of Singapore, we will totally support it.

The future in Singapore

We need a strong Government to bring us into the future. Therefore, we have to endorse our 100% support in order for them to work for the people of Singapore. All we can say is that this is not a very rosy job to take up as there are lots of sacrifice and commitment need in order to rule Singapore and bringing us forward to meet all sorts of challenges ahead. We like to show our thanks for all that had been done and hope to continue seeing the best outcome for all Singaporeans with our full support in our Government to do their jobs. Thumbs up for you all!

Lastly, as the COVID-19 pandemic is still far from over, please abide to the simple rules that can help each and everyone of us to be safe. Be sure that you wear your mask & do social distancing while in public. Also don’t forget to wash your hands with soap frequently especially before touching your eyes, nose and mouth. It is better safe than sorry since prevention is always better than cure itself. Help yourself as you can help others to avoid getting the infection.

Be blessed with good health and take care of your loved ones!
