Phase 2 in Singapore

COVID-19 is still very much ALIVE!

Reading today’s report on 16 June 2020, we learnt that there are already 8,118,908 cases of infections and the death rates are now 439,204 in record. We wonder why the numbers are kept increasing even though everyone understands the danger of human to human transmission and yet different countries are showing more infections and deaths than others. Why can’t we all take a break and analyze the situation based on individual country. If your country are seeing the rise of infection then people should start to look at the preventive measures for current cure like wearing masks & do social distancing from others while in public as well as washing hands with soap frequently to eliminate the chances of spreading. We, as individuals should be taking all necessary precautions to safeguard ourselves when being exposed in public as we will never know those who are unknown sources that we might be in contact with. This means that even if your country are easing down the restrictions of movement, we ourselves should maintain good personal hygiene as well as the preventive measures while in public.

What should you be doing against COVID-19?

Important to maintain your current measures of wearing masks & doing social distancing in public as well as washing hands with soap frequently. This helps to reduce the possibility of human to human transmission. Remember that you can help yourself in order to help others to avoid this spread of virus. Please be socially responsible on this matter as we humans are the only way to stop further spreading by doing the right thing. Your action will prove to be an effective way of having deterrent against the spread of virus.

Opening Phase 2 on 19 June 2020, what will be the impact?

As in Singapore, we will be going into Phase 2 after the Circuit Breaker (ended on 1st June 2020) and Phase 1 (started on 1st June 2020) which means further opening of businesses and schools based on the guideline provided by the Government. We had witnessed other countries after lifting the restrictions, they were hit by second wave of infections and causing the rise of cases thereafter. So, we can see that even though our Government has moved to Phase 2, we must still be vigilant against the spread of virus. Therefore, maintaining the current cure of wearing masks & doing social distancing while in public is a must as well as washing hands with soap frequently. This will help to reduce the chances of having more human to human transmission since we do know that there are still some unknown sources of people who are not tested and may continue to spread when you are exposed in public. No matter under whatever situation, we should always maintain the simple practice of wearing masks & social distancing when in public. Also continue to wash your hands with soap before touching your eyes, nose or mouth since that will be the entry point of the virus. As long as we are not being complacent and stay guard for our own safety as well as others, we believe that we can control the spread.

Just do your parts and be safe! Be a little Kiasu & Kiasi will save lives!

Regardless of the situation, we ourselves must continue with the preventive guideline until the vaccine cure is made available. So, no matter how much the situation has changed, we must never be complacent as it is very important to keep ourselves & others to be safe against COVID-19. The Government will base on the current trend and manage accordingly to the situation as they ease on restrictions but to us, we must never neglect the basic preventive measures that needed to be followed. At least life will be a little better with lesser restrictions and businesses can resume with safeguards. It is vital that we make appoint that no one should neglect those basic guideline that will prevent human to human transmission.

Like the saying goes: Better safe than sorry!

Once again we like to stress on these basic measures that we all should continue doing until the vaccine cure is made available to us. Be blessed with good health and take care!

  1. Wearing masks whenever you are in public as a preventive measures.
  2. Washing hands with soap frequently as to eliminate the virus staying on your hands.
  3. Do social distancing from others as it helps to prevent the spread of infection without close contact.
  4. Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth before you wash your hands with soap as it will be the source of entry for the virus to get you infected.
  5. If you need to sneeze, please use a tissue or otherwise bend your elbow and sneeze in between there.
  6. Should you have fever, cough and shortness of breathe, please do consult a doctor. Remember to wear mask when doing so.
  7. In order for more effective contact tracing, please do download the TraceTogether app for those who are staying in Singapore. This will actually eliminate those unknown sources as well as allow you to be informed should you be exposed to someone having the infection.

Your doing results with COVID-19 infection

As of today 15 June 2020, the infection from COVID-19 pandemic has increased to 7,984,432 cases while the number of death rates also increased at 435,177 cases worldwide. From reading these news around the world, we are sad to say that different countries are using their own methods of measures to react accordingly but unfortunately it may not be the correct solution. We sincerely hope that each individual country will be taking this matter at the highest alert in order to cope with the increase of infections & deaths. Please do not be complacent as the virus will not be disappearing any sooner. You need to implement a stricter measures as to avoid any further spreading and keeping the people safer against COVID-19.

Your decision affects the spread of COVID-19 infection.

Fortunately in Singapore, we are happy with the measures taken by the Government as to control the situation of preventing further spreading in the community. As the Government is easing on the restrictions for some businesses and schools, we should all be still vigilant and take all necessary precautions like wearing masks & doing social distancing from others in public in order to avoid getting the infection. Every person in Singapore should be alert and do what is right for yourself as well as others. We know that it will be best if one can stay at home so as to eliminate the possibility of transmission while others who cannot then must take the initiative of wearing masks & social distancing. This will be the most current cure of eliminating the transmission. Of course we still need to pay attention to wash our hands with soap frequently before touching our eyes, nose or mouth since this will be the entry point of the virus. All people should be doing the right thing together as we will emerge much more stronger than ever.

Be cooperative and stand united as ONE PEOPLE!

We also read about the unhappiness of some people regarding the measures taken by Singapore Government. It is understandable of such anger but one should be thinking that there is no foolproof of measures that can satisfy everyone or work correctly until it is carried out. Of course the most ideal case will be each implementation works to our desires. Unfortunately, it may not be the case everything when measures are taken since we will not know if it is correct until it has been tested. We sincerely appreciate what the Singapore Government is trying to do with much thoughts about it before each implementation. We believe that it is easy to point fingers & putting blame when it does not work out. But we need to think that measures are needed to carry out according to the situation that seems fit at that moment but if it does not work out then we need to move on for other methods. Our Government needs to improvise accordingly after each implementation and discharge those when not working. It is just a trial & error kind of situation since no one knows what is best to work on such crisis until it has been tested.

Stand up for Singapore and we will conquer over this crisis!

We do believe we all will learn the lesson from the COVID-19 pandemic and emerge much more stronger as we face the future after COVID-19. The most basic thing about this crisis is that every single human being should be doing their parts of keeping themselves safe by wearing masks & social distancing while in public. Not forgetting to wash hands with soap frequently as it helps to prevent getting the infection when one touches the eyes, nose or mouth. It is the job of every person to help eliminating this spread of virus irregardless of what news you may be getting from the Internet. Best current cure to stay at home, wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands with soap in order to keep this virus at bay. People’s action will result in helping to reduce the amount of transmission. Please do your parts to help eliminate further human to human transmission.

Lastly, we hope people will continue to follow these guideline as to help yourself to avoid any sort of infection with COVID-19. Be blessed with good health and do take care of yourself & loved ones.

Right thing to do about COVID-19

This figure of infections worldwide is now 7,318,124 and death rates is 413,648 while the recovery status is 3,602,580 as of this morning.

What will be the right thing to do about this deadly virus?

Based on yesterday figure, there is more than 5 thousands deaths in a day. This is indeed a scary thing that continues happening to all humans worldwide. It is time for us to be taking it seriously as the spread of COVID-19 is not stopping any time sooner. Even though some countries are recommending people to be back in their routine life for work, we must still be vigilant as to abide all the preventive measures to ensure safety among us. This simply means that everyone should continue to wear masks as well as social distancing from one another in order to prevent further spreading. On top of this, we still need to maintain a good personal hygiene practice of washing hands with soap frequently before touching your eyes, nose or mouth. This will help to avoid getting the infection through your hands since you might have touched the fluid of the virus while in public. Like to saying goes: Better safe than sorry!

Yes to all wearing masks & social distancing from now onward!

Sadly to read about some countries where people are not practicing safety distancing or wearing masks that can pose a danger to others. This is indeed a bad choice made by people who might still be ignorant or simply couldn’t be bothered in doing so. The fact that COVID-19 is still a potential danger to all humans regardless of race, language or religion, therefore no one should be going in public without having their masks or doing social distancing from each other. This is a MUST DO thing at all times from now onward in order to keep yourself as well as loved ones to be safe. Please do it as a human being and do not let it spreads to others if you happen to be infected.

You decide your own fate with COVID-19!

With the continuation of spreading for COVID-19, it shows that not all people are civic minded about the danger it poses. Or some might be actually influenced by the wrong information or faked news about the situation being better and no longer needed to take precaution any further. Please do advice those who may not be aware that the situation is never going to be over any sooner therefore we must 100% abide to the safety guideline of wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands with soap frequently. This will help to reduce further spreading of COVID-19. Please do your part and help yourself as well as others to eliminate further human to human transmission. Let us put a stop to this once and for all with 100% cooperation from every single human in the world at the same time.

Again, with resistance from some will actually make it difficult to totally eliminate the virus. We can only hope for the vaccine cure which will not be available in a year or so. Therefore we have to adopt this new trend of lifestyle as a norm. Keep in mind that every single effort you put in will actually help to reduce by a certain percentage though may not be 100%. At least it will be in a control manner as long as we try and put in the effort of doing so.

As you may be aware that Singapore Government is coming out with the contact tracing device which can be pretty useful as to eliminate as much unknown sources which are affecting people. Without totally eliminate these unknown sources, it will be harder to put in place some form of control to prevent its spreading. So, we totally are in for getting this device for better contact tracing in case we are being exposed to one or more people who are infected. We do understand that there are people who are asymptomatic and not showing any signs of infection, therefore with this device, we will be able to trace and know about it. We are currently using the TraceTogether app but it is unable to work with iPhone users so having this device will be a better solution in contact tracing. Hopefully people will realize the importance of contact tracing for the sake of their families as well as other people around them. Guess it will kind of receive resistance from some but please do think about what it can do to help people who may get infected without knowing why. You can help everyone simply with a device that can help to trace when be infected by someone.

We hope that people will continue to follow these simple but yet effective methods of safeguard oneself and others in a long run.

  7. In order for more effective contact tracing, please do download the TraceTogether app for those who are staying in Singapore. This will actually eliminate those unknown sources as well as allow you to be informed should you be exposed to someone having the infection.
