Phase 2 in Singapore

COVID-19 is still very much ALIVE!

Reading today’s report on 16 June 2020, we learnt that there are already 8,118,908 cases of infections and the death rates are now 439,204 in record. We wonder why the numbers are kept increasing even though everyone understands the danger of human to human transmission and yet different countries are showing more infections and deaths than others. Why can’t we all take a break and analyze the situation based on individual country. If your country are seeing the rise of infection then people should start to look at the preventive measures for current cure like wearing masks & do social distancing from others while in public as well as washing hands with soap frequently to eliminate the chances of spreading. We, as individuals should be taking all necessary precautions to safeguard ourselves when being exposed in public as we will never know those who are unknown sources that we might be in contact with. This means that even if your country are easing down the restrictions of movement, we ourselves should maintain good personal hygiene as well as the preventive measures while in public.

What should you be doing against COVID-19?

Important to maintain your current measures of wearing masks & doing social distancing in public as well as washing hands with soap frequently. This helps to reduce the possibility of human to human transmission. Remember that you can help yourself in order to help others to avoid this spread of virus. Please be socially responsible on this matter as we humans are the only way to stop further spreading by doing the right thing. Your action will prove to be an effective way of having deterrent against the spread of virus.

Opening Phase 2 on 19 June 2020, what will be the impact?

As in Singapore, we will be going into Phase 2 after the Circuit Breaker (ended on 1st June 2020) and Phase 1 (started on 1st June 2020) which means further opening of businesses and schools based on the guideline provided by the Government. We had witnessed other countries after lifting the restrictions, they were hit by second wave of infections and causing the rise of cases thereafter. So, we can see that even though our Government has moved to Phase 2, we must still be vigilant against the spread of virus. Therefore, maintaining the current cure of wearing masks & doing social distancing while in public is a must as well as washing hands with soap frequently. This will help to reduce the chances of having more human to human transmission since we do know that there are still some unknown sources of people who are not tested and may continue to spread when you are exposed in public. No matter under whatever situation, we should always maintain the simple practice of wearing masks & social distancing when in public. Also continue to wash your hands with soap before touching your eyes, nose or mouth since that will be the entry point of the virus. As long as we are not being complacent and stay guard for our own safety as well as others, we believe that we can control the spread.

Just do your parts and be safe! Be a little Kiasu & Kiasi will save lives!

Regardless of the situation, we ourselves must continue with the preventive guideline until the vaccine cure is made available. So, no matter how much the situation has changed, we must never be complacent as it is very important to keep ourselves & others to be safe against COVID-19. The Government will base on the current trend and manage accordingly to the situation as they ease on restrictions but to us, we must never neglect the basic preventive measures that needed to be followed. At least life will be a little better with lesser restrictions and businesses can resume with safeguards. It is vital that we make appoint that no one should neglect those basic guideline that will prevent human to human transmission.

Like the saying goes: Better safe than sorry!

Once again we like to stress on these basic measures that we all should continue doing until the vaccine cure is made available to us. Be blessed with good health and take care!

  1. Wearing masks whenever you are in public as a preventive measures.
  2. Washing hands with soap frequently as to eliminate the virus staying on your hands.
  3. Do social distancing from others as it helps to prevent the spread of infection without close contact.
  4. Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth before you wash your hands with soap as it will be the source of entry for the virus to get you infected.
  5. If you need to sneeze, please use a tissue or otherwise bend your elbow and sneeze in between there.
  6. Should you have fever, cough and shortness of breathe, please do consult a doctor. Remember to wear mask when doing so.

Your doing results with COVID-19 infection

As of today 15 June 2020, the infection from COVID-19 pandemic has increased to 7,984,432 cases while the number of death rates also increased at 435,177 cases worldwide. From reading these news around the world, we are sad to say that different countries are using their own methods of measures to react accordingly but unfortunately it may not be the correct solution. We sincerely hope that each individual country will be taking this matter at the highest alert in order to cope with the increase of infections & deaths. Please do not be complacent as the virus will not be disappearing any sooner. You need to implement a stricter measures as to avoid any further spreading and keeping the people safer against COVID-19.

Your decision affects the spread of COVID-19 infection.

Fortunately in Singapore, we are happy with the measures taken by the Government as to control the situation of preventing further spreading in the community. As the Government is easing on the restrictions for some businesses and schools, we should all be still vigilant and take all necessary precautions like wearing masks & doing social distancing from others in public in order to avoid getting the infection. Every person in Singapore should be alert and do what is right for yourself as well as others. We know that it will be best if one can stay at home so as to eliminate the possibility of transmission while others who cannot then must take the initiative of wearing masks & social distancing. This will be the most current cure of eliminating the transmission. Of course we still need to pay attention to wash our hands with soap frequently before touching our eyes, nose or mouth since this will be the entry point of the virus. All people should be doing the right thing together as we will emerge much more stronger than ever.

Be cooperative and stand united as ONE PEOPLE!

We also read about the unhappiness of some people regarding the measures taken by Singapore Government. It is understandable of such anger but one should be thinking that there is no foolproof of measures that can satisfy everyone or work correctly until it is carried out. Of course the most ideal case will be each implementation works to our desires. Unfortunately, it may not be the case everything when measures are taken since we will not know if it is correct until it has been tested. We sincerely appreciate what the Singapore Government is trying to do with much thoughts about it before each implementation. We believe that it is easy to point fingers & putting blame when it does not work out. But we need to think that measures are needed to carry out according to the situation that seems fit at that moment but if it does not work out then we need to move on for other methods. Our Government needs to improvise accordingly after each implementation and discharge those when not working. It is just a trial & error kind of situation since no one knows what is best to work on such crisis until it has been tested.

Stand up for Singapore and we will conquer over this crisis!

We do believe we all will learn the lesson from the COVID-19 pandemic and emerge much more stronger as we face the future after COVID-19. The most basic thing about this crisis is that every single human being should be doing their parts of keeping themselves safe by wearing masks & social distancing while in public. Not forgetting to wash hands with soap frequently as it helps to prevent getting the infection when one touches the eyes, nose or mouth. It is the job of every person to help eliminating this spread of virus irregardless of what news you may be getting from the Internet. Best current cure to stay at home, wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands with soap in order to keep this virus at bay. People’s action will result in helping to reduce the amount of transmission. Please do your parts to help eliminate further human to human transmission.

Lastly, we hope people will continue to follow these guideline as to help yourself to avoid any sort of infection with COVID-19. Be blessed with good health and do take care of yourself & loved ones.

  1. Wearing masks whenever you are in public as a preventive measures.
  2. Washing hands with soap frequently as to eliminate the virus staying on your hands.

Trust yourself against COVID-19

As of 14 June 2020 morning, the number of infection cases have risen to 7,860,748 while the death rates are now 432,200. If you compared with 2 days ago at 7,458,646 cases, it does not seem to be under control in some countries after easing on the restriction. Therefore, we sincerely hope that people will come to realize that regardless whether or not your Government is easing on the restriction, you have to take all necessary precaution of wearing mask & do social distancing from others while in public. This is the most basic precaution you should be taking under any circumstances without fail. That will in return safeguard not only yourself but to others who are in close contacts while in public. Never let your guard down even your Government has relaxed on the restriction as economy starts to open up.

Just do it from today onward! It will be the new norm in life with COVID-19.

In Singapore, we can see that our Government is stepping up with all sorts of precautions which is like Work-In-Progress since we do not really know what really works when the restriction starts to ease down after Circuit Breaker. We do understand that there is no foolproof plan that will work for all instances but much like trial an error kind of implementation. Of course there maybe some form of conflicts with implementation which might not be satisfying to everyone. At times, people might even get a little confused about the Phase 1 for businesses with regard to who can be opened and who cannot operate. There is no right or wrong way of doing thing as it is first time experience of such deadly virus unlike during the SARS period which was controllable.

Your right action keeps everyone safe!

No matter what plans are implemented, we the people should do the most basic precaution of wearing masks & doing social distancing from others in public. Plus washing our hands with soap frequently as to remove any virus before touching your eyes, nose or mouth while in public. Also, as far as possible during this period to isolate yourself whenever it is permitted so you can actually reduce the transmission of human to human. Let us all do our parts to help eliminate further spreading of contact between human to human. Be more civic minded when you are traveling in public and try not to join in the crowded places. As long as each of us take care of our own personal hygiene, it will definitely helps to reduce the chances of spreading through contacts.

Help to spread the right news of guideline to keep everyone safe!

Lastly, we sincerely do hope everyone can take these simple advice as how we can help one another to avoid further spreading in community. As long as there are unknown sources of infection, it is still very dangerous to be in public.

  1. Wearing masks whenever you are in public as a preventive measures.
